Ice Watch March 10 2019

Welcome to the Georgian Bay Ice Watch for Spring of 2019! We begin the festivities looking…like the middle of February in 2015. Sigh. The Bay is covered in ice almost clear across, with heavy fast ice gripping the entire north channel and eastern coastlines right down through Cognashene. Temperatures are forecast to start dipping above zero, but my pessimistic bet is that we’re looking at the first or second week of May before getting paddles anywhere near the water.
