Ice Watch May 4, 2014

Georgian Bay Ice Watch, May 4 2014, NOAA Modis 250mA tantalizing image of Georgian Bay, with heavy cloud cover. The major bulk of surface ice appears to have finally, mostly, dissipated. A string of ice looks to be hugging the offshore area of Parry Sound, but as of May 4 much of the Bay appears to be clear of ice.

Take that with a grain of salt, many of the smaller channels could very well still be choked off. This week will be a deciding factor in launching the 2014 season.
