Ice Watch March 31 2015

Finally a direct comparison between conditions of March 31 in both 2014 and 2015.  There’s substantially less ice cover than last year, and fast ice along the shoreline is already in retreat.

Temperatures in the Bay area are trending upwards, with lows above zero forecast by mid-April for Parry Sound.

We hit the water on May 6 in 2014 (with lots of bergy bits still around), and we’re still betting on a full week to ten days earlier this year.
